Upfront was a British pop group that formed in the late 1990s. Their song 'Walking Around' became their most recognizable track, reaching the top 10 in several countries. The group included Kirsty Hawkshaw and Mark Sayer on vocals, with Dan Carter on keyboards, Andy Perry on guitar, Dave Thomas on bass, and Neil Wood on drums.
They released their self-titled debut album in 1999, followed by 'Bulletproof' in 2001. Some of the material on that second album drew criticism for its lyrical content, though the band described it as reflecting urban realities. Their catalog also includes songs like 'All of Me,' 'Balisage,' and 'Daybreak.'
Financial trouble at their record label led to the group disbanding in 2002. They reunited in 2009 and have performed and recorded since then.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
