Origins and Formation
The band's founding members, vocalist Ali Campbell, guitarist Matic Mouth, bassist Earl Falconer, and drummer David Hanson, shared a passion for reggae, dub, and hip-hop. They combined these influences to create a unique sound that resonated with audiences.
Debut Success and Challenges
Urban Dub released their eponymous debut album in 2006, which spawned the hit single "Boy." The album's success propelled the band to mainstream recognition, but also brought challenges. Departure of Campbell and New Direction
In 2008, Campbell left Urban Dub to pursue a solo career. The band recruited vocalist Dan Webstar to replace him, marking a shift in their musical direction. Webstar's energetic stage presence and soulful vocals brought a fresh perspective to the group.
