Urban Mystic formed around vocalist Anya Mystik with musicians Johnathan Reed on guitar, Emily James on bass, and Ethan Croft on drums. Their debut album 'Unveiled' came out in 2012, and its lead single 'In The Morning' got some attention for its mood and themes of love and loss. They followed with two more albums, 'Echoes of the Soul' in 2015 and 'Awakening' in 2018.
Bassist Emily James left the band in 2015, which was noted at the time. Their songs sometimes addressed social issues, and they worked with rapper Mos Def on a track called 'Rise Above.' Other songs in their catalog include 'I Promise,' 'Ah Yeah,' and 'Gotta Get U Home.'
