Maar Theo met zo'n boomstam ga je toch nooit onder
Dan gaat het nog veel vlugger als j' er inspringt zonder
Gebruik dan toch een koelkast of een wasmachien
Dan ben je zo verzopen zonder af te zien
En Theoke die knikte 'het is juist wat je vertelt'
En we trokken toen tesamen naar de vuilnisbelt
Maar wat we daar toen vonden maakte Theoke niet blij
Een opgeblazen binnenband en een lege batterij
We prevelden tesamen onze akte van geloof
En inderdaad, we vonden er een Leuvense stoof
Dat gietijzeren mormel vanachter op de rug
Strompelden we kreunend weerom naar de brug
Theo bond het touwtje heel strakjes rond z'n nek
Hij zei 'geef me maar een duwtje als ik teken geef vertrek'
Het startsein werd gegeven, ik gaf Theo een stoot
En hij dook met stoof en al in een rode gummiboot
Die toevallig kwam gevaren onder het brugje uit
Met een pasgetrouwde bruidegom en een parelwitte bruid
Het meisje was op slag verlamd, de jongeman werd blind
Van radeloze woede om z'n bruidje teerbemind
De bruidegom heeft Theoke toen naar de keel gegrepen
En heeft ze tien minuten waterdicht geknepen
Maar Theoke die lachte 'het kan mij niet verschillen
Hoe harder dat je nijpt, hoe liever dat 'k zou willen'
De bruidegom verbleekte en Theoke werd rood
Het gummibootje kantelde en ze gingen allen dood
En ik was toen heel tevreden, gelukkig en voldaan
Dat ik Theoke, m'n beste vriend, in de nood had bijgestaan
