Us Sandalias formed in 2004 in Salvador with vocalist Leo Santana, multi-instrumentalist Xanddy Harmonia, bassist Luciano Henrique, and drummer André Avelar. Their debut album 'Raízes' came out in 2005, and the title track became a nationwide hit.
Their song 'Dança do Leo' has an irresistible beat that made it widely popular. Another track, 'Já Tá Ligado,' also stands out in their catalog. The band released several albums including 'Mandou Bem' in 2007, 'Vem Dançar' in 2009, and 'Entre o Céu e o Mar' in 2012.
In 2010, their music video for 'Largadinho' drew criticism from conservative groups for being sexually suggestive, leading to censorship on some television channels.
