Uschi Blum formed in 1992 around singer-songwriter Uschi Blum. Their debut album 'Rot' came out in 1994, and the single 'Ich Denke Nur Noch An Mich' followed in 1996. That song became something of an anthem for its time, though its self-focused lyrics stirred some debate.
The band's lineup included Michael Beck on guitar, Thomas Dörsch on bass, and Stephan Willner on drums. They released six studio albums between 1994 and 2005, each titled with a color: 'Rot,' 'Blau,' 'Grün,' 'Gelb,' 'Lila,' and 'Orange.'
Their music dealt with personal themes, and the straightforward delivery connected with listeners, especially younger audiences. The records kept coming through various lineup shifts and whatever else was happening behind the scenes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
