Archive material and source history
Use the Force, Luke! came out of São Paulo in the early 2000s playing punk rock mixed with ska. Their first single, "O Começo," got them noticed pretty quickly. The original lineup had Lucas Silveira on vocals and guitar, Felipe Boechat on bass, and Edu Tedeschi on drums, though that changed some over time.
They put out seven studio albums, including O Começo in 2002, Presente in 2005, and O Lado Bom das Coisas in 2013. In 2005 they left their record label and took a short break, but kept going independently. Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being political and anti-establishment.
In 2017 they won the MTV Video Music Brasil award for Best Rock Band. They're still playing shows and making music.
