A DIY English punk band that kept recording fast, raw songs for over a decade.
For a quick sense of their sound, try 'Kiss Me, Kill Me' or 'The Worst Holiday I Ever Had'. Both are classic Useless Id, fast, blunt, and straight to the point.
Useless Id came out of Essex in the mid-1980s with a sound that was all speed and directness. Songs like 'Kiss Me, Kill Me' and 'Diary' capture that style perfectly, no frills, just hardcore energy. They put out records steadily into the 2000s, including 'Dead to the World' in 2002, showing a stubborn commitment to their approach.
Their early records, like '12" of Shit' and 'No Way Out', arrived quickly in the late '80s. They followed with albums such as 'Redemption' in 1992 and 'Manifest Destiny' in 1994, keeping the pace up through the early '90s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
