Uwe Busse started in the late 1970s punk scene in Germany. He formed the band Fehlfarben in 1979, and their debut single 'Militürk' became an anthem for disillusioned youth at the time.
After Fehlfarben dissolved in 1983, Busse went solo. His 1986 album 'Liebe Tod und Teufel' was followed by successful singles including 'Abschleppdienst,' a ballad about unrequited love that became a German pop classic. Other songs like 'Die Hormone fahren Achterbahn' and 'Fallschirm für dein Herz' show his range as a songwriter.
Busse continued releasing albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including 'Ich habe Angst' in 1988 and 'Der letzte Tango' in 2005. In recent years he's focused more on live performances, which are known for their emotional intensity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
