A Lisbon band making post-punk with a psychedelic edge since 2015.
For a good frame on Vacs, try "A Parte B das Coisas" first. Then maybe "Gran Sól" to hear that guitar work.
Vacs works in that space where alternative rock meets post-punk, with a sound that can feel raw or psychedelic. It's not polished mainstream stuff, which has meant their path hasn't always been smooth, but they've stuck to their own approach. Songs like "A Parte B das Coisas" have connected with people, and "Gran Sól" shows their knack for that driving, atmospheric guitar work.
They started putting out music around 2015 with an EP called "Vazio," followed by a self-titled album in 2017. They kept at it, with another album, "V," arriving in 2020. The lineup has stayed consistent: Francisco Rebelo on vocals and guitar, Ricardo Valério on guitar, Miguel Rita on bass, and Diogo Alves on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
