Archive material and source history

Vagabundos formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s, bringing together reggae, rock, and samba. Their debut single "Relaxa" caught on quickly, becoming one of their most recognizable tracks alongside songs like "Vagabundo Eu Sou" and "Siliconada."

The band's lineup included Renato Massa on vocals and guitar, Bernardo Vilhena on bass, Bernardo Aguiar on drums, and Rodrigo Tavares on keyboards. Their sound pulled from different directions, with Massa's vocals leaning toward traditional Brazilian styles while the rhythm section added rock and reggae elements.

In 2003, Vagabundos released the song "Meu País," which drew criticism for its political lyrics. They put out several albums including Vagabundos (2000), Relaxa (2002), and Mundo Vagabundo (2005), and worked with artists like Manu Chao and Gilberto Gil.
