Es strömt herab der Tage Schmerz
ein Sturzbach ungeweinter Tränen
füllt mir mit glänzend Nass mein Herz
umspühlt mein ungestümes Sehnen.
Es bricht herein mit alle Macht
in Urgewalt vergang'ner Zeiten
ergreift auch mich , das Wasser lacht
und stürzt hinaus in ferne Weiten.
Fluten weit in Schluchten fallend
trunken in der Rohheit Bann
brodelnd in der Tiefe hallend
Sinnesstürme wehn heran...
Fluten voller kühner Schönheit
Seelen streben in den Wind
Tropfen in dem Hauch von Freiheit
wie sie nur an Wassern sind.
Nebel ziehen von den Bergen
und die Quellen flüstern leise
die der Tränen Schmerzen bergen
auf solch reißend' brechend' Weise.
So wein ich in den Flutentod
und wasche rein mein ganzes Sein
bereit ein Ende all der Not
um mich nun endlich zu befrei'n.
