Valentino is a Puerto Rican musical group that formed in Ponce around 2003. The band is led by vocalist Edwin "Valentín" Ruiz, and their sound mixes traditional salsa with contemporary urban rhythms. They built their following through local club performances before gaining wider attention.
Their 2016 single "TÚ y Yo," featuring Nicky Jam and Justin Quiles, became a significant hit across Latin America and Europe. Other tracks like "Hola," "Loco," and "Suelta" have also been part of their catalog. The group has worked with various collaborators, including De La Ghetto on "Llamarte."
Valentino has released several albums, from their debut "El Poder de la Familia" to more recent work like 2022's "A Tiempo." Their music draws from Puerto Rican and broader Afro-Caribbean influences while maintaining a modern edge.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
