Archive material and source history
Valley of Chrome formed in the early 2000s with vocalist Gavin Ross, guitarists Chris and Nick Johnson, bassist Mike D'Antonio, and drummer Scott Rockenfield. They came together in New York City and put out their debut album 'Extinction Agenda' in 2005, which included the title track and another song called 'Forever Young.'
Their lyrics sometimes touched on social and environmental themes, and they occasionally drew criticism for being outspoken. The band released three more albums after their debut: 'The Age of Ruin' in 2007, 'The Devil's Mark' in 2010, and 'Redemption' in 2013.
Ross's vocals were a central part of their sound, and the group maintained a steady presence through those four studio records before their activity seemed to taper off.
