Vando Ribeiro is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from Porto Alegre who came up in the mid-1980s. His debut album in 1986 included 'Amor Sem Fim,' a ballad that became a major hit in Brazil and defined much of what followed.
He kept releasing albums through the late 80s and 90s, titling them simply 'Vando Ribeiro II,' 'III,' and 'IV.' Songs like 'Estrela Dos Desejos' and 'Paixão Verdadeira' continued in that vein of romantic balladry.
In 1997 there was a public dispute over the rights to 'Amor Sem Fim,' which led to a settlement and some professional strain. Later on, some listeners felt his work stayed close to the sound of those earlier hits.
