Varius Manx formed in the early 1990s with Robert Janson leading the group. Their debut album 'Emu' came out in 1994, followed by self-titled and 'End' albums later in the decade. The band worked with several vocalists over time, including Anita Lipnicka, Kaja Kurzyńska, and Monika Kuszyńska.
Songs like 'A Prisoner' and 'Brak Słów' became familiar to Polish audiences. Their music appeared in films and television shows in Poland, and they toured both domestically and abroad.
Anita Lipnicka left the band in 2001 to work on solo material. Varius Manx released another album called 'Eta' that same year.
