Vast Ren formed in Bogotá, Colombia in 2004 with Alejandro Gómez and Juan Pablo Cadavid as founding members, later joined by Andrés Correa on drums and Alejandro Arias on bass. Their debut album '3 Semanas' came out in 2006, with the title track becoming their breakout hit. The band followed with albums like 'Recargados' in 2008 and 'El Sótano' in 2011.

Their songs like 'Abra Sua Mente' and 'Coisas Que Eu Não Sei Dizer' show their range, mixing pop and rock with Colombian sounds. They've had some legal issues over management contracts around 2009, but kept recording through it. The lineup has stayed mostly consistent since the beginning, with Gómez on vocals and guitar, Cadavid on guitar, Correa on drums, and Arias on bass.

Later albums included 'Loco por Ti' in 2014 and '10 Años' in 2016. Songs like 'Ela Pensa No Sim' and 'Desgosto' remain in their setlists.
