Archive material and source history
Véiétu formed in São Paulo in 2010 with Lucas Guimarães on vocals, Diogo Telles and André Oliveira on guitars, Fábio Bento on bass, and Ricardo Lira on drums. They started playing in underground venues, developing a sound that mixed heavy metal with alternative rock and Guimarães's guttural vocals. The band eventually signed with Shinigami Records.
Their debut EP, 'As Faces da Guerra,' came out in 2012. In 2015, they released the full-length album 'A Fome vem Cobrar,' which included the title track and songs like 'Carente Blues' and 'Casa dos Cegos.' The lyrics often dealt with social themes, and their live shows were known for being intense. They built a dedicated following in Brazil.
