Velha Historia is a Brazilian orchestral rock band that formed in the mid-2000s. Their lineup includes Toni Costa on vocals and guitar, Felipe Cazaux on cello, Felipe Pacheco on keyboards, Rodrigo Sena on bass, and Renato Martins on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 2007, followed by records like A Fábrica in 2009 and Futura in 2012.
Their 2015 album Abaporu Self Serve-se featured a collaboration with rapper Vitor Pirralho on the title track. The song references Tarsila do Amaral's painting and touches on themes of cultural commodification and indigenous representation. Other songs in their catalog include Consciente, Indivíduos, Marajás, and Tele-visão.
They put out another album called Enfim in 2019. Their music combines classical instrumentation with rock rhythms, and their lyrics often engage with social and political subjects.
