Velho Lobo formed in Brazil in 1974 around brothers Marco and Claudio Lobo. They put together a band with bassist Luis Henrique Franco and drummer Carlos Alberto Aguiar, playing rock with Brazilian roots. Their self-titled debut came out in 1977, and the song 'Olhos Fechados' from that album connected with listeners right away.
The band faced censorship but kept making music. In the 1980s they found audiences in Europe and South America through touring, and their 1989 album 'Sombra e Luz' was well received.
