Velocaos

Velocaos formed in Brazil during the 1980s, a period when the country was under military rule. The band's frontman was Badauí, and their music had a raw, aggressive quality that stood out. Their debut album was called 'Asilo Padrão', which came out in 1986. That record included the song 'Asilo Padrão', a track that criticized the country's mental health system and became notable for its direct lyrics.

Other songs like 'Barbarossa' and 'Filosofia Eletroestática' appeared on later albums such as 'Psicopata' and 'Bosta no Camisão'. The band's lineup included Eduardo Sensual on guitar, Alex Antunes on bass, and Ronaldo Vicente on drums, though members changed over time. Their sound was part of what people called Brazilian punk, and they faced some censorship and pushback from authorities during their early shows.

Velocaos didn't have much radio play, but their records found an audience with younger listeners who were drawn to the music's energy. They kept putting out albums through the late '80s and into the '90s, with songs like 'Linha Tênue' and 'Momento Certo' showing up in their catalog. The band's work was discussed more for its social commentary than for commercial success, and it remained a reference point in certain circles long after they were active.
