Velocity Girl formed in Washington, D.C. in 1991 with Archie Moore III on vocals and guitar, Sarah Shannon on guitar and keyboards, Brian Nelson on bass, and Kelly Riles on drums. Their debut album 'Copacetic' came out in 1993, featuring the track 'My Forgotten Favorite' that became a fan favorite. The band followed it with 'Simpatico' in 1994.

Nelson left the band in 1996, with James McNew joining on bass. They released several more albums including 'Sorry Again' and 'Downward Spiral' before disbanding in 1998. Other songs from their catalog include '57 Waltz,' 'A Chang,' and 'Copacetic.'
