Vem Ki Tem

Vem Ki Tem formed in 1974 in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together musicians who mixed funk and soul with samba. They rehearsed in small apartments early on, working outside the more traditional genres that dominated the local scene at the time. Songs like "Desengano" and "É No Pagode" came out of that period, with lyrics that often reflected everyday life in the city's neighborhoods.

The group included Arlindo Cruz on vocals and guitar, Jorge Aragão on vocals and bass, Sombrinha on vocals and percussion, and Piska on vocals and guitar. They released albums such as "Vem Ki Tem" in 1975, "Só Vai de Leve" in 1977, and "Terceira Geração" in 1980. Their sound helped shape what would later become known as funk carioca, and tracks like "Hoje A Noite É Nossa" and "Mulher fatal" have stayed in rotation for years.
