Venerime formed in São Paulo in 2018 around Rafa, with Bruno Moscardi on keyboards and Pedro Zamboni on drums. They started putting out EPs like 'Água' in 2019 and 'Fogo' in 2020, working mostly on their own at first.
In 2021, 'O Sábado de Rafa - Vitamina de Banana' caught on. It's a track that pulls together electronic beats and a kind of hypnotic rhythm, with Rafa's vocals sitting somewhere between singing and talking. They followed it with 'O Sábado de Rafa - Hat Glitch' and 'O Pendurado - Leatherface', which kept that same off-kilter, genre-blurring feel.
By 2022 they'd released another EP called 'Ar'. Their sound doesn't settle into one thing, it's built from pieces of electronica, some rock textures, and pop structures that get bent out of shape. They work out of São Paulo, and their music has that city's layered, sometimes claustrophobic energy.
