Vengeance Rising

Vengeance Rising formed in San Francisco in 1980, playing a style of hard rock and metal that drew attention for its intensity. Their 1988 album 'Before the Time' included songs like 'Bishop Of Souls' and 'Fill This Place With Blood' that became staples for their audience.

Fronted by Lars Frederiksen, the band's lineup included musicians like James DeGrasso on drums and Brad Divens on bass at various points. They worked with figures such as Dave Mustaine from Megadeth, which added to their presence in the metal scene.

Their later albums like 'Human Sacrifice' and 'The Serpent's Kiss' continued in a similar vein, with tracks such as 'Fatal Delay' and 'Released Upon The Earth' maintaining their aggressive sound. The band's live shows were known for their energy, though their lyrics sometimes drew criticism from conservative listeners.

Vengeance Rising kept recording through the 1990s and early 2000s before winding down. Their music remains a reference point for fans of that era's harder rock styles.
