Sentenced

I can't escape, from my fate

It's too late, to have faith

Without hate, I await, the last gate

Captured at war, and sentenced to death

Today is the day, they'll put me to death

Realize that I'll soon be dead

My hands chained, a bag over my head

As we walk out, I hear all their steps

Feel the rain, my bag is now wet

Gloomy day, for the day I'll die

Not what I wished, at the time of my last ride

Legs are trembling as I hear the roll of drums, played for me

Heartbeat is speeding up with the shuffle of guns, brought for me

My whole body crumbles under the weight of fear, invades me

Dignity is gone I can't hold all the tears

Stopping me, pushing me against the wall

Hitting me, beating me until I fall

Lifting me, ordering me to stand

Hating me, now that I will meet the end

Breathing the scent of death

That is now in the air

It's time for my last prayers

I will meet my death
