Vengince

Vengince formed in Boston in the early 2000s, with Brandon Ellis on vocals, Dan Cortese on guitar, Anthony Lopresti on bass, and Michael Hennessy on drums. Their debut album 'A Deathbed Thank You Letter' came out in 2005, and its title track became one of their most recognizable songs. They followed it with albums like 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2007 and 'The Burden of Infinity' in 2010.

Their music often dealt with heavy themes, which sometimes drew criticism. Songs like 'Asphyxiate' and 'Choked by Lies' reflected this darker lyrical territory. They worked with other artists including Chino Moreno from Deftones and Anthony Green from Circa Survive on various projects.

Later albums like 'The Divine Tragedy' in 2013 showed a shift toward more nuanced arrangements. Tracks such as 'Back to Bitterness' and 'Eminence' maintained their core sound while exploring different textures. The band's catalog built a dedicated following over time without major commercial breakthroughs.
