Venialgo formed in Brazil around 2012, with Marcos Valle on vocals and guitar, Rafael Martins on bass, and Paulo Henrique on drums. They released their debut album 'Prelude' in 2014, which included the track 'Nuvens de outono.' The band's music tends toward atmospheric, introspective sounds that blend elements of alternative rock and indie folk.
In 2016 they put out 'Lumen,' followed by 'Astral' in 2019. Keyboardist Natalia Moraes joined the group in 2019. Their songs often have titles like 'As estranhas criaturas do parque' and 'Blues do desespero,' suggesting a certain lyrical moodiness.
Around 2017, Venialgo faced some scrutiny over plagiarism allegations connected to one of their songs. They addressed the situation and moved forward. The band has kept recording since then, working with the same core lineup plus the added keyboard.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
