Versailles formed in 2007 around vocalist Kamijo and guitarist Hizaki, both previously in the visual kei group La'Mule. They were joined by bassist Jasmine You, guitarist Teru, and drummer Yuki. Their debut album 'Lyrical Symphony' came out in 2008, followed by others like 'Noble' and 'Jubilee'.
Their music often mixed classical elements with metal, heard in songs like 'Serenade' and 'Ascendead Master.' Drummer Yuki left in 2010, replaced by K. In 2012, guitarist Teru faced sexual harassment accusations, leading to a temporary removal and a public apology from the band.
They released albums including 'Holy Grail' in 2011 and 'Phantasmagoria' in 2015. Other tracks in their catalog include 'Destiny (The Lovers)' and 'Philia.'
