Vertical formed in Brazil in the early 2000s as a trio with Rafael Munhoz and Mario Camelo on vocals and guitar, and Anderson Felippo on drums. Their debut album came out in 2004, the same year they released 'O Mais Profundo Amor,' which became a significant song for them.

They followed up with albums like 'Entre Nós,' 'Depois do Silêncio,' and 'Azul.' In 2008, there were some plagiarism allegations around another song called 'Ensina-me a Sonhar,' but the band denied them. Other songs in their catalog include 'Digno É o Senhor,' 'Agora sim,' and 'Hosana.'

In 2022, Vertical put out an album called 'Presente' that showed a shift toward more experimental sounds compared to their earlier work.
