Vescan was a Romanian band that started in the early 2000s. They worked with a vocalist and guitarist named Vescan and a backing vocalist and percussionist named Ligia. Their music mixed rock, folk, and electronic elements, and they sometimes drew from Romanian folk traditions.
They put out a few albums over about a decade. Their first was called "Mirrors" in 2003. Later came "The Edge of the World" in 2006 and "Al Tau Impiedicat" in 2010, which featured Ligia on the title track. They also released a live recording from the Athenaeum in 2013.
Their lyrics often dealt with love and loss. The song "Al Tau Impiedicat (feat. Ligia)" became particularly well-known in Romania.
