Vials Of Wrath

Vials of Wrath came together in Boston during the late 1990s, with Kyle Shea on vocals. Their 2001 album 'A Greater Calling' gave the band its most recognizable song, and that track's title became something of a rallying point for listeners who felt on the outside.

Their lineup included Jonathan Chaisson on guitar, Justin Fogarty on bass, and Dave Castine on drums. They put out records like 'The Longest Mile' in 2005 and 'The Great Depression' in 2009, sticking with the kind of hardcore that felt direct and unpolished. Songs like 'Alone In The Wilderness' and 'Cold Contempt' carried that same intensity.

Some of their lyrics drew criticism at the time for being too harsh or confrontational. Shea generally framed the music as a reflection of difficult realities rather than an endorsement of them.
