Viborah

Viborah formed in Brazil during the late 1990s, part of a Christian rock scene that was finding its voice. The band was led by vocalist and lyricist Marcelo Ferreira, with Alex Sillva on bass and Danilo Souza on drums. Their music had a raw, introspective quality that connected with listeners who were wrestling with questions of faith and doubt.

Their 2000 debut album shared its name with the song 'Venha Buscar a Minha Alma,' which became a significant track for them. They followed it with four more studio albums over the next fifteen years: 'Sobre a Terra o Céu' in 2003, 'Luz, Câmera, Ação!' in 2006, 'O Trem da Vida' in 2010, and 'Vulnerável' in 2015. Other songs like 'Face do Horror' and 'Rotina' continued in that vein of personal, sometimes darkly themed rock.

Viborah's lyrics, which often dealt with despair and existential questions, drew criticism from some religious figures who found them too bleak. The band maintained their artistic direction through these controversies, believing their approach was valid. Their work resonated with a particular audience in Brazilian rock, offering a space for those grappling with similar internal conflicts.
