Archive material and source history
Vicente Amigo was born in Guadalcanal, Seville in 1967. His father played guitar, and his uncle was a luthier, which gave him an early connection to flamenco's sounds and craftsmanship.
His first album, "Vivencias Imaginadas," came out in 1991. Later records like "Poeta" from 2001 and "Tierra" from 2005 followed. One of his pieces, "Tangos Del Arco Bajo," uses a particular low-bow technique that gives it a distinct character within his work.
In 2007, he was diagnosed with cancer and took time away from music. He returned to performing the next year.
