un muchachito jugaba,
que a las aves imitaba,
en su canto era un primor.
Una vieja con rigor
el pito le arrebató,
ella también pretendió
jugar la mesma jugada,
y por ser atarantada
el pito se lo tragó.
La vieja abría la boca,
los ojos desmesurados,
pero aquel pito malvao
seguía toca que toca.
La vieja ya medio loca
por no poderlo expirar,
la tuve que manotear
y así se fue respirando
y el pito se fue cantando
al estómago a parar.
Dándose unos refregones
decían unas amigas,
usted tiene en la barriga
una nida' de ratones
con muchos retorcijones
la vieja sigue llorando,
su desgracia lamentando
por aquel pito pirata
que lo tenía en la guata
y siempre sigue piteando.
Siguió por el estantino
agarró camino abajo
y vino a tener atajo,
al salir de su camino.
Una ventosea' vino
para poderlo arrojar,
no lo pudo desatar
por estar muy ajustao,
y con el viento forzao
el pito volvió a pitear.
Por fin la vieja pujaba,
con una fuerza inaudita,
pero el condenao pito
con fuerza repiqueteaba,
como jilguero cantaba
y como era necesario,
alarmao el vecindario
un día por la mañana,
y con el traste la anciana
cantaba como canario.
