They put out their first album, 'Vitrola Nova,' which set up their approach. Later records like 'Oxalá' and 'Bahia Batuca' kept working with those Bahian sounds while touching on themes of cultural pride. The band's lineup included Dan Souza on guitar, Yuri Valadares on bass, and Igor Almeida on percussion.
In 2015, there was some trouble over a sample used in 'Lê Bahia,' which led to legal action. The situation got them more attention, for better or worse. Their music, with its percussive drive, found an audience in Brazil and beyond.
