El se llamaba Juan,
tenía un perro negro,
una camisa gris
y era amigo del viento;
todas las tardes salía
a caminar por los cerros,
todos los niños le seguían.
Allá va Juan con su perro,
amigo de los entierros,
fiel seguidor de los muertos.
Como lagarto al sol,
mirando siempre al suelo,
llenó su habitación
de esquelas hasta el techo;
saltaba los cementerios
para robar algún hueso
y conversar con los muertos;
cuando no había un entierro
se entretenía tejiendo
hilos de babas hasta el suelo.
