Victor Martin was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He started singing and playing guitar early, drawing from boleros and salsa. In 1986, his debut album "Si Tú No Estás Conmigo" came out, and it included the song that would become his best-known track, "La Niña Más Bonita Del Mundo."
That song turned into a hit, and Martin kept recording through the late 80s and 90s. He put out albums like "Una Noche de Amor" in 1988 and "Más Que un Sueño" in 1992. Later, he returned to boleros with "Boleros de Oro" in 2000.
At different points, he worked with musicians like guitarist Carlos "El Catire" Acosta, bassist José "El Topo" Arvelo, drummer Luis "El Pájaro" Pérez, and keyboardist William "El Flaco" Salazar. There were some accusations of plagiarism along the way, but he kept making music.
