Victor Olivatti is a band named after its singer-songwriter frontman. They formed in 2010, with guitarist David Bazan being an early collaborator. The name comes from a short story character, which the members felt reflected a certain introspective quality. Their debut album was 2010's 'Like a Bird in a Mountain', which includes the title track of the same name.
Their music often deals with themes of human nature and existence, set to a sound that pulls from folk and rock. Other songs in their catalog include 'Green Lake', 'A Chuva', and 'Cabeça Quadrada'. After Bazan left in 2015, the band continued with new members, including guitarist Brian Walker, bassist Joe Lussa, and drummer Chris Schlarb.
They've worked with other artists like Ben Gibbard and Laura Stevenson. Later albums include 'The World Is Too Much with Us' from 2013, 'New Skin' from 2016, and 'The Hollows' from 2022.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
