Victor Pooh

Victor Pooh formed in Santos in the late 1980s with Victor Puñales on vocals and guitar, Luiz Cintra on drums, and Luiz Leme on bass. They started playing live shows around that time, building a following in Brazil's underground scene. Their 1992 album "Noite Iluminada" included the song "Anjo Noturno" with Barbieri, which became one of their better-known tracks.

Puñales wrote lyrics that often dealt with darker, more introspective themes, which sometimes drew criticism from conservative groups. The band's lineup changed over time, with musicians like drummer Fabio Gasparini and bassist Fernando Moledo joining at different points. They played shows at places like the São Paulo Biennial and London's Barbican Centre.

Their music shifted from a post-punk sound toward something more atmospheric and experimental as they kept recording. Songs like "Carta Ao Meu Pai" and "Sou Quem Sou" show that quieter, reflective side of their work. They collaborated with other artists, including José Mojica Marins.
