Vieira e Vieirinha were a Brazilian folk-rock duo from Bahia who started as street performers. In 1972, they released their debut album, which included the track "A Moça Que Dançou Com o Diabo." The song's explicit lyrics and rock sound drew criticism from traditionalists and religious groups at the time.
They went on to release several albums in the mid-1970s, including "Deixa a Vida Me Levar" in 1973 and "A Vida do Viajante" in 1975. Other songs like "Garça Branca" and "Rio Preto" became part of their catalog. Their music connected with Brazilian youth during that period.
Vieira handled lead vocals and guitar, while Vieirinha provided backing vocals and drums. The duo was known for energetic live performances. They reunited in the 1990s after some time apart.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
