Viktor V. formed in Porto, Portugal in 2001, with vocalist Viktör and guitarist João Vieira at the center. Their early work, like the 2003 single 'Mudar O Seu Destino,' drew attention for its raw lyrics about addiction and self-discovery, though some listeners found its message provocative. The band's self-titled debut album came out that same year.

They followed with albums like 'O Gosto do Pecado' in 2005 and 'Terra de Ninguém' in 2007, maintaining a core lineup that included bassist Pedro Silva and drummer João Caldeira. Songs such as 'Palavras' and 'Por Trás Dessa Máscara' continued their focus on personal struggle and darker themes, delivered with a mix of rock, punk, and metal influences.

Later releases included 'Revelações' in 2011 and 'O Diabo em Pessoa' in 2016. While their music never shied from intensity, it found an audience in Portugal who connected with its directness. The band kept working without much fanfare about legacy or impact, letting the records speak for themselves.
