From darkness

Frail and weak

Diversion

Of suffering

Coerces

Safe

Passage

And strong winds

In broad reach

Take me away

Will you real

I rival your thought

I speak in tongues known to few

I hide depression in pages

I scavenge for meaning

I rebuke reality as a binary

I construct my own earth

Bury me beneath

Words, not earth

This world has no safe space for me

We live like cicadas

Burrowing for years

Avoiding predators

When we emerge

Our lives are short

Time tenuous

Days spent in fear

Craving escape

But knowing

It will lead to demise

Is our nature

We cannot see

Refuse to believe

We do not submit

To corporeality

Sleep knowing death will come

I am the waves that crash, I am the end
