Villa Oppus is a Brazilian band that works with indie rock, MPB, and electronic elements. Their lineup includes Rodrigo Tavares on vocals and guitar, Guilherme Melo on bass, Marcelo Gomes on drums, and Leo Brandão handling keyboards and accordion.
They released their first album "Paraíso" in 2012, followed by "Assim" in 2016 which featured the song of the same name. Later albums include "Astronauta" from 2019 and "Electricidade" which came out in 2023. Other tracks in their catalog include "Foi só pra viver" and "Tarde pra pensar."
In 2017, the band received some criticism for addressing social and political topics in their lyrics. They've generally kept writing music that leans toward introspection.
