The group's lineup includes Santiago Cruz on vocals and guitar, Alejandro Mejía on bass and vocals, Simón Vargas on drums, and Nico Cadavid on guitar and vocals.

In 2017, the song "Hasta La Muerte" became their breakout track, gaining international attention. They followed it with other songs like "Chau Corazón" and "Me He Quedado Sólo." The band released additional albums including "Tiempos" in 2019 and "Renacer" in 2021.

Around 2018, Villanos faced a lawsuit from a former member over rights to "Hasta La Muerte," which was eventually resolved in the band's favor. They've developed a following in Colombian rock circles with their mix of rock, folk, and Latin rhythms.
