Vinícius Galant formed his band in 2006, taking his name from the Brazilian city where he was born. Their debut album 'A Flor da Pele' came out in 2009, featuring the song 'Camila Sunflowers' that became their breakout track. The record earned them critical attention and a growing audience.
They followed with albums like 'Luz do Mundo' in 2012, 'No Silêncio do Amor' in 2015, and 'O Rio que Corre' in 2018. Other songs in their catalog include 'Cercado', 'End Times', and 'Ghost Town'. The band has worked with Brazilian artists including Chico Buarque, Marisa Monte, and Caetano Veloso.
Some critics questioned their approach to traditional Brazilian music, but they continued with their own sound. The group remains an ensemble of musicians playing under Galant's name.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
