Virus (Noruega)

Virus formed in Norway in 1995 around Øystein Ramfjord, who handles vocals and keyboards. They put out their first album, 'The Black Box,' in 1997. The band's sound has been described as synthpop, with some noting an interest in the textures of groups like Depeche Mode.

A track called 'Chromium Sun' came out in 2001 and got some attention for them. They followed it with albums like 'The Art of Pop' in 2003 and 'Memento Collider' in 2011. Other song titles in their catalog include 'Continental Drift,' 'Dead Cities Of Syria,' and 'Red Desert Sand.'

There have been some lineup shifts over time, with Torsten Anderson and Egil Evensen mentioned as early members alongside Ramfjord. The group has had periods where they weren't very active, but Ramfjord has generally been the consistent figure keeping the project going.
