Visceral Rock formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s. Their first album, Medo de Mim Mesmo, came out in 2003 and gave the band its breakthrough. The title track became one of their most recognizable songs, along with others like Perfeita Tarde and A Chuva.
They followed that with Só Queria Ser Mais Forte in 2006, then Incendiário in 2010. Their sound shifted some over those years, moving between heavier rock and more stripped-down acoustic work on Alma Nua in 2015. They returned to a rawer approach with Sangue Quente in 2020.
The band's lineup included Guilherme Arantes on vocals and guitar, Fernando Amaral on rhythm guitar, Leonardo Simões on bass, and André D'Angelo on drums. Their music often dealt with themes of self-doubt, vulnerability, and social observation, delivered with the kind of energy that fit their name.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
