Background notes

Archive material and source history

Vision of Disorder formed in 1992 in New York City with Tim Williams on vocals, Matt Baumbach and Mike Kennedy on guitars, Kyle Baltus on bass, and Brendon Cohen on drums. They put out their first album, Relentless Memories, in 1995, followed by a self-titled record in 1996 and For the Bleeders in 1998. Williams and Baumbach stayed with the band through various lineup changes.

The group took a break in 1999 but came back the next year with a different lineup to record From Bliss to Devastation, a 2001 concept album that dealt with addiction and depression. Their song "Don't Let Me Down" became a hardcore staple. Vision of Disorder broke up in 2002, though they've played occasional shows since then.
