Visionary came out of the early 2000s underground scene with Ethan James on vocals, Mark Anderson on guitar, Emily Carter on bass, and Jake Wilson on drums. Their debut album, also called 'A Part of Me,' got attention for its ethereal sound and raw emotion. The title track became an anthem that pushed them toward mainstream alternative rock.
After that initial success, the band hit some rough patches. There were plagiarism accusations around their second album, 'Echoes of the Past,' which were eventually dismissed but still caused problems. Ethan James struggled with substance abuse during this period, leading to canceled shows and internal tension that resulted in Anderson and Wilson leaving the group.
Visionary eventually regrouped with new members Alex Hayes on guitar and Sam Stevens on drums. They released a third album called 'Resilience' that was seen as a comeback, built around more introspective lyrics.
